About me
Hello! I’m Lisa, an elementary educator and Literacy Coordinator based in Seoul, South Korea. I’m passionate about creating classrooms where children feel safe, connected, and capable.
A huge part of my teaching philosophy is Conscious Discipline. I believe that behavior is something we can teach, just like reading or writing. I love helping children develop self-regulation, empathy, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of belonging. Conscious Discipline has shaped the way I approach everything from classroom management to relationships with students and families.
I’m equally passionate about evidence-based literacy instruction and the Science of Reading. As a Literacy Coordinator, I support UFLI Foundations implementation across Grades 1–3, use assessment data to strengthen instruction and intervention, and work alongside teachers to make high-quality literacy instruction practical and sustainable.
I also hold a Master of Education in Special Education, which has strengthened my commitment to inclusive classrooms and to recognizing that children learn, communicate, and grow in different ways.
Whether I’m talking about behavior, literacy, intervention, or inclusion, I keep coming back to the same idea: children do well when we give them the skills, support, and connection they need to succeed.
I wish you well!
